Dr. Kevin Riley, his wife Julie and their 6 year old son Andy arrive to the Caribbean for a vacation. A doomed motorboat joy ride leaves the family stranded on a deserted islet without food or water. A fisherman named Miguel and his deckhand Jorge spot them and demand a ransom in order to save them. Kevin agrees, however, the fishermen leave Julie and Andy behind as collateral and take Kevin to town to get paid.
